I've decided to follow in the footsteps of giants by keeping this site current with the goings-on of the Ninja's.
October 2008 can officially be known as the month where we opened up the gates on jobs.
It's taken a year to get all the pieces in place to take on consecutive jobs.
In case you've never done it before, creating websites is really really hard.
I don't mean standard run-of-the-mill html/frames websites. I mean SaaS (Software as a Service).
The same type of websites as Facebook, Flickr or Last.FM. The kind of sites that use AJAX, MySQL, PHP, CSS.
Then of course you've got to put them all together, so which framework? Which CMS? Prototype or JQuery.
HARD! Really HARD.
Should I mention that they don't all play together well either? Should I mention that whatever gets created will work differently depending on whether you use Internet Explorer/ Safari/ Firefox/ Chrome or Konqueror?
Oh. Then you have to know why auto-generated sitemap.xml files are important for SEO (Ha! As if there's more than one.)
Anyway, the point of this 'news' story (it's not a blog) is to start my rambling tirade about all the really really hard stuff that's now become part of the daily grind of a web developer.
I'm sure there'll be more.
